Many Lands Of The DKI Provincial Government Were Grabbed Into Illegal Parking, Pramono: No One Should Be Given Privilege

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung ordered the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service to no longer allow the seizure of land belonging to the DKI Provincial Government to be used as illegal parking. Currently, Jakarta is increasing its ranking as a global city.

Therefore, Pramono did not want the construction of Jakarta to be hampered due to the fraudulent practice of the parking system.

This is in response to the findings of many unlicensed parking operators using land assets belonging to the DKI Provincial Government. This finding was only discovered after the sudden inspection (sidak) of the DKI Jakarta DPRD's Parking Special Committee (Pansus).

"Parks must be transparent, no one should be given civilage. If the parking is transparent and cashless, everything will definitely enter City Hall, to Jakarta. That is my main target for the future," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, October 2.

Pramono also supports the steps taken by the DPRD Parking Special Committee to uncover and take action against rogue operators who have not had permits and evade parking taxes.

"What the Jakarta Parking Special Committee has done by sealing it means that they are actually almost the same spirit as us. Earlier I also communicated with DPRD friends. That's why I conveyed to them, City Hall provides full support for that," Pramono explained.

On the one hand, the DKI Provincial Government is also preparing a more modern parking management system so that there will be no more leakage of regional income originating from parking taxes and levies.

"After all, this parking matter must be resolved immediately and I will encourage all parking that becomes in or managed by the regional government to be cashless. It can't be done anymore, then the transaction is manually," he said.

On Wednesday, October 1, the Jakarta DPRD Parking Special Committee again conducted an inspection of the illegal off-street parking location. Inspection is carried out in four locations.

Among them are the East Sentra Apartment in Pulo Gebang with parking operator PT Duta Selaras Solsindo, BSI Campus Pemuda University in Rawamangun with operator of the BSI Rawamangun Foundation, Liara Pengadegan Language Institute Building with Kopkar operator Foundation Bahasa LIA, and Cikini Gold Center with operator PT Rodial Indonesia.

The four parking locations were immediately sealed and put on stickers by the DKI Transportation Agency. The sealed parking gate is prohibited from operating at this time.

"The four lands are not licensed. Second, they (parking operators) use land owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," said Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD Parking Special Committee Jupiter after inspection at Cikini Gold Center, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, October 1.

Based on Jupiter's calculations, of the four illegal managed parking locations by this private operator, the DKI Provincial Government has lost tax revenue of up to IDR 70 billion per year.

This value does not include unlicensed parking operators that have not been sealed by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency in all areas of Jakarta. Jupiter estimates that the total potential lost regional income will reach trillions of rupiah.

"The potential loss, I believe, is increasing in Jakarta. The potential for local revenue from the parking sector and also from the rental sector for the land of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, which should be the original regional income, can be more than IDR 1.4 trillion," explained Jupiter.

"In addition to (loss tax revenue) from Bapenda, there was also a leak from the land lease of the asset body. The land of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has enormous potential. When used by irresponsible people, of course this is very detrimental to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," he added.
