Polda Metro Jaya Opens Up Regarding Arya Daru's Exhumation Request

Polda Metro Jaya said it would always be open regarding the possibility of exhumation (of the body) to determine the cause of death of the young diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arya Daru Pangayunan (ADP).

"There is a request for an exhumation, whether there is such an opportunity, once again I tell you that there are always open possibilities," said Head of the Public Information Bureau (Pemas) Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Reonald Simanjuntak as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 2.

Reonald explained that if it really had to be exhumed, it would definitely be exposed as evidence of transparency and openness from investigators.

"The investigators want to actually reveal what is happening in this ADP case," he said.

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police has yet to stop investigating the ADP case. One of the missing evidences is the cellphone that investigators are still looking for.

His party really appreciates and respects every step and effort taken by the families of the victims of ADP.

"Both the wife and parents of each family accompanied by a lawyer are present at Commission XIII of the DPR and convey everything, recommendations then suggestions for input from the DPR RI institution will definitely be followed up and we will study it," said Reonald.

Previously, Commission XIII of the House of Representatives urged that the death of a young diplomat from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arya Daru Pangayunan, be reopened with an exhumation option or a re-autopsy to determine the cause of death.

"This meeting concluded that this case should be reopened. There are irregularities between the police report and the facts obtained, including a statement from the Ministry of Human Rights which confirms that the case should not be closed," said Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII DPR, Andreas Hugo Pareira.

According to Andreas, the exhumation pressure was put forward for the family to obtain clarity, and all parties did not wonder what caused the victim's death.

He emphasized that investigations must be carried out openly and transparently by involving an independent investigation team.

"The investigation remains by the police, but it must be monitored by the investigation team and the public," he said.
