Aceh Plate Raid In North Sumatra Triggers Tensions, DPR Leaders Will Report To The Ministry Of Home Affairs: There Should Be No Cross-Regional Ego

JAKARTA - The DPR leadership responded to the action of the Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, who was suspected of raiding the Aceh Plate truck (BL) in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Saan Mustopa, said that the action did not need to be carried out because it would invite tensions between Aceh and North Sumatra.

"Regarding the viral issue on social media, related to raids on plates numbered Aceh in the North Sumatra region in Medan, this should not happen because it will cause various tensions between regions," said Saan at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, October 2.

Saan reminded all parties, especially the North Sumatra regional government, to continue to prioritize Aceh as well as to be a unitary country of the Republic of Indonesia.

"So there should be no ego, let alone cross regions, and such seeds must be eliminated," said the Deputy Head of the NasDem Party.

The Deputy Chairman of the Coordinating House of Representatives for the Coordinating Sector of Korinbang also stated that he would report this to the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian.

"Of course later we will try to convey to the ministries and related people in charge this is about regional heads," said Saan.

It is known that the action of the Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution and his entourage who were suspected of raiding and stopping the Aceh Plate truck (BL) in Langkat Regency went viral in the media. The action also received attention, especially from residents of Tanah Rencong.

In the aftermath of Bobby's action, the Governor of Aceh, Muzakir Manaf alias Mualem reacted. Despite responding casually, according to Mualem, Gubsu Bobby's move was only limited to birds' which in the end would harm himself.

"Yesterday, the Governor of North Sumatra forbade Plat BL to enter. But bah keuh ta iem manteng, ta saba manteng, bah keuh other people tweeted. (Yesterday the Governor of North Sumatra forbade the BL Plate to enter. We just stay silent, be patient, let other people tweet)," said Mualem.
