Semarang Polrestabes Traffic Unit Holds Reconstruction Of Iko Juliant Junior Accident Case, Unnes Students

JAKARTA - The Laka Unit of the Semarang Polrestabes Polrestabes held a reconstruction of the accident case that killed the late Iko Juliant Junior, a Semarang State University (Unnes) student, in a number of locations on Wednesday, October 1.

This activity was also attended by attorneys and parents of the late Iko Juliant Junior victim. The reconstruction was held in three different locations, namely Simpang Milo Jalan Dr. Cipto, Jl. Veterans and emergency room at Dr. Kariadi Hospital, Semarang City.

In the reconstruction activities at the three locations, officers from the Laka Unit investigators, Semarang Polrestabes Inafis, Labfor, Propam and the Central Java Police Investigation Supervisory (Wassidik) directly monitored 24 scenes demonstrated by witnesses.

A series of reconstruction scenes depicting the incident began with laka then on Sunday, August 31, in the morning experienced by witnesses with the initials D (Jani car driver) and AR (White Vario driver) at Milo intersection.

Furthermore, US witnesses and the FA (the driver and passenger of the Black Vario) who knew about the incident tried to catch Yaris' car that fled to the fifth intersection, Tugu Muda, Kariadi and ended up on Jalan Veteran.

On Jalan Veteran, the black Vario motorbike carrying US witnesses and the FA was stopped by a number of Brimob members who were on standby around the location. To the officers, the two said that they were chasing Yaris' car, the perpetrator of the hit-and-run who was heading to Jalan Pahlawan from Jalan Veteran.

But suddenly, both of them were hit from behind by a Supra GTR motorbike driven by the late Iko who was riding an AIF witness. The hard collision of the vehicle that was traveling from west to east resulted in witnesses and victims falling at the location.

The incident was witnessed by a number of witnesses from Brimob personnel and civilians around the location.

Victim Iko was then evacuated by being carried by witnesses from Brimob to a double cabin car. Witness AIF also had time to walk in the back of the double cabin car assisted by officers.

Furthermore, the two of them were rushed by four witnesses from Brimob to the emergency room at Dr. Kariadi Hospital using a double cabin car for treatment.

The entire series of incidents and the evacuation process were also witnessed by witness AA, a civilian who saw them from the security post of Tower Bersama Group across the street.

Meanwhile, witness AIF who was presented in the reconstruction gave a different testimony. When asked by officers for information, he said the motorbike he was riding with the late. Iko drove from east to west, not from west to east like the scene in the reconstruction.

Responding to this activity, the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Artanto, said that the reconstruction process was an important part of the process of investigating the accident that killed the victim Iko Juliant Junior.

The entire series of scenes was arranged based on the testimony of witnesses to test the suitability of the information with the evidence obtained at the TKP.

"The National Police is trying to handle this case in a professional and transparent manner. With the presence of external parties from the attorney, the victim's parents and the media crew in the activity, it is hoped that it can make light of the incident and ensure that the handling of the case goes according to procedures," he said.

Regarding the difference in testimony from witness AIF, Head of Traffic for Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Yunaldi said that his party would summon AIF to provide information before investigators.

"We summoned the person concerned last week, but he was not present because according to his legal advisor brother AIF was still sick. Earlier he was present (at the reconstruction) meaning he was healthy and then we will call back to provide additional information in the BAP," he said.
