2026 Hajj Fee, Government Will Be Decided November 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is targeting the 2026 Hajj fee or the cost of organizing the Hajj (BPIH) to be decided in November 2025. With this certainty, prospective pilgrims are expected to be able to immediately pay the Hajj fee and prepare for departure early.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochammad Irfan Yusuf said, accelerating the determination of BPIH is important so that all preparations for the pilgrimage run smoothly.

"We hope that maybe November 2025 there will be a decision regarding the BPIH," he said in his statement, Thursday, October 2.

The Indonesian government received a hajj quota of 221,000 people, consisting of 203,320 regular quotas and 17,680 special quotas. This amount is the same as the previous year and is a fixed quota provided by the Government of Saudi Arabia.

"So that our prospective pilgrims can immediately pay off it, then all preparations will start soon," said Irfan.

Irfan also emphasized that the government continues to reduce the 2026 hajj costs according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is said to be combing various components of the procurement of goods and services, both from within the country and abroad, which have been suspected of causing leaks, causing high Hajj costs.

"Yes, in principle related to BPIH, because according to the president's orders, we hope that together we can discuss with the DPR that we can reduce BPIH," he said.

Regarding the distribution of hajj quotas per province, Irfan Yusuf emphasized that the determination must refer to the mandate of the law and consider the waiting list. This is to uphold the principle of justice for all pilgrims.

"The determination of the quota must refer to the waiting list, so that the principle of justice can be upheld. In the future, there will be no more areas queuing for up to 48 years, all of which will be equivalent to waiting 26 years," said Irfan.

For special Hajj, Irfan ensured that the proportion remained eight percent of the total national quota. He emphasized that special pilgrims must still follow the queue, with a maximum waiting time of about 5 years.

The government and the DPR are committed to implementing the principle of justice in the implementation of the pilgrimage, both for regular and special routes. With the target of the 2026 Hajj cost decision in November 2025, it is hoped that the preparation of the pilgrimage can take place faster, more transparently, and efficiently.
