JAECOO J8 SHS Sets MURI Record, Reaches 1.660 Km Distance From The Association Of Gasoline And Electricity

JAKARTA - JAECOO Indonesia made an important history with its latest model, J8 SHS Ardis. This model, which recently launched, managed to break MURI's record thanks to extraordinary efficiency.

The PHEV SUV managed to cover a distance of 1,660 km in just one fuel and electric power. The figure is quite far compared to the manufacturer's claim of only 1,400 km.

JAECOO Indonesia's Head of Marketing, Mohamad Ilham Pratama, said that MURI's achievement is clear evidence of the superiority of the Super Hybrid System (SHS) technology promoted by JAECOO J8 SHS ARDIS.

The journey to reach the MURI record has been going on since 6-10 September 2025. In total there are two units of Jaecool J8 SHS ARDIS driven by four journalists together with representatives of the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI). The routes taken start from Jakarta to Solo, Surabaya, Banyuwangi, to the final line in Yogyakarta.

During the journey, drivers and passengers were still very comfortable because the air conditioning of the room was still on. The journey is also special because it passes through many contours of the road. For example, long toll roads to Semarang, incline and steep descent in the mountains of East Java, to the rocky semi-off road in Banyuwangi.

Speaking of specifications, JAECOO J8 SHS ARDIS is equipped with a 1.5L TDGI Hybrid-Specific Engine with 105 kW of torque 215 Nm, paired with the 3DHT Electric Hybrid system. The total power reaches 530 dk with a 650 Nm torque peak, enough to shoot from 0-100 km/hour in just 5.2 seconds.

This car is equipped with an LFP battery with a capacity of 34.46 kWh capable of covering a distance of 180 km purely electric, while a combination of turbo gasoline engines and 70 liters of tank broadens its cruising range to more than 1,400 km. With the achievement of 1,660 km, this claim was successfully exceeded completely.
