After The Dumai Refinery Fire, Pertamina Ensures Safe Fuel Supply

JAKARTA - Pertamina International Refinery ensures that the supply of fuel oil (BBM) remains safe following the fire that occurred in one of the operational units of the Pertamina Dumai Refinery.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Dumai Refinery, Agustiawan said, the availability of stock of Pertalite products was recorded to be affected so that it could still supply Pertalite to the North Sumatra region (Sumbagut).

"For the needs of the Solar Dumai and Siak areas as well as the needs of the Pekanbaru Avtur area, it is certain that the Dumai Refinery can still be met," he said in a statement to the media, Thursday, October 2.

Meanwhile, the need for other parts of the Sumbagut area will be supported by transfer of supply from other Pertamina refineries.

"With the support of other refineries throughout Indonesia, we ensure that there is no supply disruption for the community. The stock and distribution of fuel remain at a safe level," he explained.

Previously, the fire that occurred on October 1 tonight was successfully extinguished at 23.20 WIB.

KPI also alerted 8 fire engines from Pertamina Dumai Refinery, 1 from Dumai City Fire Department, and 1 from Pertamina Patra Niaga Region Sumbagut. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire will still be investigated by Pertamina.
