The Story Of The People Of Minahasa Dialek Tombulu Is Revived
TOMOHON - The legacy of Minahasa's words is now back up. The Studio of Kamang Wangko Woloan held a Lokakarya Cerita Rakyat Minahasa Dialek Tombulu in Amphitheater Woloan, Tomohon, Tomohon, North Sulawesi, Wednesday (1/10). This event became part of a series of workshops and competitions with the theme Caring Roots, Mating Stories'.
Chairman of the Kamang Studio Wangko Woloan, Armando Loho, M.Kom., emphasized that folklore is a source of identity. People's stories are not just legacy, but source of value. Presenting them in the Tombulu dialect means reviving collective memory while strengthening Minahasa's identity," he said.
The activity lasted three days, 1 3 October 2025. The agenda includes discussions, writing workshops, and art performances. The chairman of the committee, Oktavianus Pusung, said that this program is part of the Banpem of the Literature Community initiated by the Language Development and Development Agency of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. Through Banpem, the community is given space to liven up the tradition of speech. The hope is that the younger generation will love regional languages more," he said.
The first day was filled with briefing from literacy activist Johanis Paulus Loho, S.Pd., a conservationist of Mahzani's oral traditions. He taught the basics of folklore while training elementary and junior high school students throughout West Tombulu District to appear confident using the Tombulu dialect.

The atmosphere became more lively when the students brought their stories. With Tombulu's thick accent, they tell the story of the Minahasa people in front of the participants and invited guests. A lively applause emphasized: oral traditions still have lives in the hands of the younger generation.
