Bulog Affirms Ready To Absorb Corn From Police Plants To Realize Self-Sufficiency
JAKARTA - President Director of Perum Bulog Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani emphasized the readiness of his party to absorb corn from Polri planting as a strategic step to support food security and realize the national corn self-sufficiency target in a sustainable manner.
"Bulog is ready to absorb all corn from Polri planting," said Rizal in a statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 2.
He conveyed earlier that at the end of September 2025, his party together with the National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo; Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan; Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman carried out Simultaneous Corn Harvest in Bunga Mayang District, East OKU Regency, South Sumatra.
The harvest was also attended by the Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi, and the Chairman of Commission IV DPR RI Siti Hediati Hariyadi or who is familiarly called Titiek Soeharto.
According to Rizal, the harvest is a strategic momentum, because it is an important milestone in strengthening national food security while at the same time supporting Indonesia's big vision of self-sufficiency in food in Indonesia in 2025.
He emphasized the importance of synergy between all parties, including the government, Bulog, Polri, TNI, and people who move together to realize food self-sufficiency.
"The big corn harvest is not just a ceremony, but proof of our commitment that we are able to rely on domestic strength to meet national food needs," said Rizal.
He said the government under the command of President Prabowo Subianto emphasized his commitment to maintaining corn prices at the farm level. The minimum price is IDR 5,500/kg for water levels of 18'20 percent and IDR 6,400/kg for water levels of 14 percent is determined according to the Decree of the Head of Badanas Number 216 of 2025.
This policy is a follow-up to Presidential Instruction Number 10 of 2025 concerning Domestic Corn Procurement and Management as well as the Distribution of Government Corn Reserves (CJP).
Rizal further stated that the harvest of corn in the third quarter of 2025 was carried out simultaneously throughout Indonesia on an area of 1,788 hectares, including in East OKU covering an area of 52 hectares with daily production reaching 7,153 tons.

Nationally, the estimated third quarter corn harvest covers 166,512 hectares with a total production of around 751,442 tons.
Bulog has absorbed 76.9 thousand tons of domestically produced corn, with stored stock reaching 72 thousand tons until the third week of September 2025.
"Bulog was also assigned to distribute the corn Supply Stabilization Program (SPHP) of 52.4 thousand tons to 2,019 breeders at a price of IDR 5,500/kg," said Rizal.
