SEA Games 2025 Preparation Basketball Team Cuts

The Indonesian Men's Basketball National Team, which is currently undergoing preparations for the 2025 Thailand SEA Games at the end of this year, was cut by the coaching team.

David Singleton as the coach decided to do a downsizing by repatriating six names to clubs each out of a total of 24 names undergoing training camps.

The reduction in the number of players is part of the stage to find the best composition to face basketball competition in the biennial multi-pronged sporting event.

"This process is about choosing the best of the best. Every day on the pitch is a competition."

"The players have shown dedication and extraordinary hard work," said the Manager of the Basketball National Team, Rivaldo Tandra Pangesthio.

The six players who had to leave the training camp were Abraham Wenas, Fisyaiful Amir, Kelvin Sanjaya, Gede Elgi Wimbardi, Adrien Maxime Alain Chalias, and Neo Putu Satria Pande.

Rivaldo mengatakan bahwa pemain-main yang dipertahankan adalah mereka yang paling cocok dengan style of play yang diinginkan pelatih.

"We believe that a combination of individual quality and match to the gaming system will be a strong foundation for teams to compete at the highest level," Rivaldo said.

The Indonesian Basketball national team started a training camp since September 9, 2025. This activity was held by GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro Kuningan, South Jakarta.

The 2025 Thailand SEA Games are scheduled to take place on 9-20 December 2025. This sporting event has a total of 50 sports and 574 match numbers.
