Timor Leste Ambassador Sambut Invites PT NBE And AMKI Cooperation

JAKARTA The Ambassador of Timor Leste to Indonesia, Roberto Sarmento de Oliveira Soares, warmly welcomed the invitation for cultural and economic cooperation from PT Nabe Bumi Energi (NBE) and the Indonesian Convergence Media Association (AMKI) when receiving a group at the Timor Leste Embassy, Kuningan, Tuesday 30 September.

The PT NBE delegation was led by Inspector General Pol (Ret.) Dr. Anton Charliyan who is also the Advisory Board of PT NBE and AMKI accompanied by the President Director of NBE Deka, Sandi, and Marsda TNI Yulianta. Meanwhile, from AMKI was present by the General Chairperson, Tundra Meliala, Secretary General Dadang Rachmat, General Treasurer Umi Sjarifah, Head of International Relations Budi Nugraha, Head of Rukmana Legal Affairs, Deputy Chairperson of Anita Fitria Education, Deputy Chair of Litbang Division Levy Dewi, and Public Relations of Herdiana.

During the meeting, PT NBE offered cooperation in various strategic sectors starting from infrastructure development, irrigation, waste processing, maritime and fishery, agriculture, robotic technology, to energy and defense. Meanwhile, AMKI proposed a program of training and education for human resources.

Ambassador Roberto, who was accompanied by Embassy staff Remigio Coa, assessed that the offer was important to accelerate the development of Timor Leste. He even invited PT NBE and AMKI to visit his country directly so that they could see the potential field most needed. "More than 50 percent of our people's economy still depends on Indonesia. Therefore, we hope that cooperation can be realized soon," he said.

On that occasion, Anton Charliyan handed over Sundanese ticket souvenirs and kujang heirlooms to Ambassador Roberto. jokingly he said, "Starting today, he is officially Willing Roberto."

The Ambassador also opened the opportunity to establish a sister city relationship between Dili City and a number of cities in West Java. He conveyed a message that the results of the visit were immediately followed up technically with related attaches, as well as entrusting the expectations of the people of Timor Leste to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to immediately visit Dili to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.
