Jannik Sinner Wins China Open 2025

JAKARTA The world number two, Jannik Sinner, won the 2025 China Open after defeating young tennis player Learner Tien from the United States in the final round of the tournament.

Sinner successfully returned to its best form with a 6-2 and 6-2 wins to win his third title this year and 21st trophy at the overall tour level on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

"This is a very, very special place for me. I am very happy to be able to share this trophy with all of you," said Sinner during the handover of the trophy in Beijing.

This is the title of the two Italian players at the China Open. He previously won in Beijing in 2023.

The latest win makes Sinner the third tennis player with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal who have won the ATP 500 level event more than once.

The 24-year-old, who won the Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year, is the fourth player in 2025 to win three titles or more.

The world number one, Carlos Alcaraz, is currently still leading the title of the most this year. The Spaniard has collected a total of eight titles.

"My team, thank you for understanding and working with me. Not all teams are here, hopefully the rest will watch from home. We will try to improve ourselves and try even harder," said Sinner.

Sinner then headed to Shanghai, where he will be the first seed after Alcaraz was forced to resign due to an ankle injury he suffered at the ATP 500 event in Tokyo.

Alcaraz managed to come out as champions in the tournament. This marks the first time since 2020, world number one and two won trophies in the same week after Novak Djokovic (Dubai) and Rafa Nadal (Acapulco).
