Kuwait Captures Expatriates Related To Planned Bombing Of Houses Of Worship
JAKARTA - Kuwaiti security forces have arrested an expatriate Arab accused of planning a house of worship bombing.
This arrest was described as a preliminary attack by the Ministry of Home Affairs of Kuwait.
Officials did not name the suspect or his group, but the Al Qabas newspaper said he was an Egyptian citizen and the group affiliated with him was related to ISIS.
State Security officers have been tracking suspects for some time, reports the news outlet.
"This arrest is part of our ongoing vigilance to maintain the security of our country," the ministry said.
"The Ministry of Home Affairs will not tolerate any effort that endangers Kuwait's security or threatens the safety of its citizens and residents," the ministry continued.
In the raid on the suspect's house, investigators found various devices and materials used in the manufacture of explosives, along with detailed manuals on how to prepare and use them.
