Learning To Be A Saleh Man To Ask For Prayer Audio, Giorgino Abraham's Totality Plays Ustazah's Child

JAKARTA - Being an actor often requires the perpetrators to learn new things, including exploring different beliefs.

This is what happened to Giorgino Abraham when he played Fafat, a pious Muslim man and the son of a cleric, in the film Don't Call Mama Kafir. Giorgino admitted that he really enjoyed this learning process.

"Well, that's it, the excitement of being an actor, we are paid to learn new things," said Giorgino Abraham at the VOI office, Tuesday, September 30.

He admitted to conducting in-depth research on the habits and routines of a devout Muslim.

"If the prayer is a habit, that's how it is. People, children, the story is Fafat is ustazah's mother. Okay, what is ustazah? Oh, it's like this. Okay, it means I have to be more polite than Muslim men in general. Maybe I have to give an example because I have a burden, my mother is a cleric. I can't argue like that, right, I better have to maintain that image," said Giorgino Abraham.

"Oh, you have to pray five times. Wow, crazy too," he said, showing his admiration.

The biggest challenge for him is when he has to recite prayers in Arabic with the right intonation. He even asked for audio recording assistance to train at home to make it sound convincing.

"But it turns out that when you enter a set or read, the intonation is different. It's funny, there are different prayers. There are notes that have to be like this. This is more difficult than this project, you mean," said Giorgino Abraham.

"Incidentally, I asked to send it, please send it, what is it, audio like that. So I can listen at home," he concluded.
