West Java PPP DPW Explains The Reason Agus Suparmanto Becomes General Chair At The Congress

The Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the West Java United Development Party (PPP) revealed the reason Agus Suparmanto was elected as the General Chair of PPP at the X Congress in Ancol, Jakarta.

Agus' appointment as general chairman is said to be related to the attitude of the Deputy Chairperson of the PPP for the previous period, Amir Uskara, who left the courtroom.

Chairman of the West Java PPP DPW, Pepep Saepul Hidayat, said that during the congress on Saturday, September 27, Amir Uskara, who chaired the trial, left the room after the dynamics of the trial was colored by interruptions and riots.

"Of course we regret the chaos that occurred. But it needs to be understood, the congress is a series of processes. So why is Mr. Agus Suparmanto the General Chair, because after the dynamics that occurred, the chairman of the trial who was initially chaired by Mr. Amir Uskara left the venue, while most of the congress still lasted," Pepep said in a telewicara in Bandung, Antara, Wednesday, October 1.

According to Pepep, Amir Uskara's leadership was questioned by some participants because it was considered not to accommodate interruptions, including a suggestion that the chairman of the trial be held by the Chairman of the Steering Committee (SC) or the Secretary of SC. This triggered a hot situation that led to throwing seats.

After Amir Uskara left the room, the chairmen of the trial were taken over by figures from SC and OC elements, including Qoyum Abdul Jabbar, Komarudin Tahir, Rusman Yakub, Qonita Lutfia, Khairunnisa, Ainul Yakin, Dahlia Umar, and Mustafa Nuur. The trial was continued with the agenda of changing AD/ART, the DPP accountability report, to the election of the general chairman.

The majority of participants are still there. About 75 percent of valid voters remain in the room, "said Pepep.

He emphasized that Agus Suparmanto's election as General Chair was legal and could be accounted for because the trial continued with a quorum that was fulfilled.

Previously, the X PPP Congress which was scheduled to take place on 27-29 September 2025 brought up two claims by the general chairman. Plt Chairman of PPP Mardiono claimed that he was elected by acclamation, while Agus Suparmanto's camp also stated that it was supported by the majority of party cadres.
