Dark Traces Of KKB Ammunition, Cartenz Peace Task Force Hunts Suppliers In Puncak Jaya

JAYAPURA - Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani said his party was still investigating a network of ammunition suppliers for the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Puncak Jaya, Central Papua.

"It is true that the personnel of the Cartenz Peace Task Force are still investigating the ammunition supplier to the KKB in Puncak Jaya to uncover the network of buying and selling ammunition," said Faizal in Jayapura, Antara, Wednesday, October 1.

Previously, the Damai Cartenz Ops Task Force team succeeded in enforcing the law on a network of weapons and ammunition suppliers in Karubate Village, Muara District, Puncak Jaya Regency.

Two members of the KKB, namely Emek Enumbi alias Air and Hugon Gire alias Yemiter Murip, were arrested on Monday, September 29. Of the two, the police confiscated 12 rounds of ammunition of various calibers.

According to the suspect's confession, the ammunition is planned to be handed over to the KKB Ternus Enumbi alias Tesko, which operates in the Puncak Jaya area.

The confiscated ammunition consisted of six 9 mm caliber items, two 7.62 mm caliber, and four 5.56 mm caliber items. In addition, a bag containing a blue plastic bag was also secured which initially contained ammunition, two banana leaves, and a cell phone of the Tecno Spark brand.

"The origins of the ammunition confiscated from the hands of the perpetrators are still in the process of being investigated and investigated," said Faizal.

Ia menegaskan, Satgas Damai Cartenz akan terus menindak tegas jaringan pemasok senjata dan amunisi ke KKB di Papua.

He emphasized that the Cartenz Peace Task Force will continue to take firm action against the armed and ammunition supply network to the KKB in Papua.

"We urge the public, if they find suspicious activity, immediately report it to the police," he said.
