Drop 6.56 Percent, Indonesia Import Value 19.47 Billion US Dollars In August 2025

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded a decrease in Indonesia's import value in August 2025 by 6.56 percent. Thus, Indonesia's import value padAAugust was recorded at 19.47 billion US dollars from August 2024 which was recorded at 20.84 billion US dollars.

"In August 2025, the total import value reached 19.47 billion US dollars, a decrease of 6.56 percent compared to Agutsus 2024," said Deputy for Production Statistics M. Habibullah during an online press conference, Wednesday, October 1.

He detailed that the import value of oil and gas was recorded at 2.73 billion US dollars, an increase of 3.17 percent on an annual basis. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas imports were recorded at 16.74 billion or experienced an annual decline of 7.98 percent from last year which was recorded at 18.19 billion US dollars.

Habibullah said this decline was triggered by the drop in imports of consumer goods and auxiliary raw materials. He detailed that for imports of consumer goods, it was recorded at 5.24 percent from the previous USD 1.98 billion in August 2024 to USD 1.88 billion in August 2025. Meanwhile, raw or auxiliary materials fell 9.06 percent from USD 15.01 billion to USD 13.65 billion.

In contrast to consumer goods and raw materials, imports of capital goods were recorded to have increased by 2.45 percent to 3.85 billion US dollars in August 2024 to 3.95 billion US dollars in August 2025.

"The import value of auxiliary raw materials as the main driver of import declines by 9.06 percent with a share of 6.52 percent," said Habibullah.
