JAKARTA - Pregnant women to journalists killed in Israel's latest attack on the Gaza Strip, adding to the long list of dead victims in the Palestinian enclave to nearly 66,100 people, a day after the announcement of a peace proposal by United States President Donald Trump.
At least 58 Palestinians, including a pregnant woman, a child and a journalist, were killed in Israel's latest attack on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, medics said, quoted from Anadolu Oct. 1.
This attack came after US President Donald Trump announced a Gaza peace proposal consisting of 20 points he initiated on Monday. Then, in a joint press venture following a meeting at the White House, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he supported the proposal.
Palestinian media WAFA reported that the death toll from Palestinians in Gaza since the latest conflict broke out on October 7, 2023 until yesterday has reached 66,097 people, while injured victims have reached 168,536 people.
Meanwhile, the death toll from malnutrition and hunger from Israel's policy in Gaza since October 2023 has reached 453 people, Gaza's health ministry said yesterday.
A ministry statement said the number included 150 children who died from hunger and malnutrition from Israeli blockades.
According to the ministry, 175 people, including 35 children, have died of starvation since the UN-backed Integrated Food Safety Phase (IPC) Classification announced a hunger disaster in Gaza last August.
The IPC announced a hunger disaster in Gaza City on August 22, warning that the disaster would spread to central and southern Gaza by the end of September.
