Ministry Of Transportation Targets JIS Station To Operate Next Month

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) is targeting a new electric rail station (KRL) at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta, to be operational next month.

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi said the construction of the station was continuing to be carried out.

He also admitted that he had asked PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI to complete it in the near future.

"I ask for more confirmation (with KAI), I hope that this month or two can be completed," he said in a media briefing, in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 30.

Dudy said that so far, when events or activities took place at the JIS stage, visitors had difficulty accessing public transportation services.

Furthermore, Dudy hopes that the existence of stations can encourage public accessibility to public transportation services around the stadium.

"Because usually at the end of the year there are many events that take place in the Ancol area and its surroundings," he explained.
