Wagub Asks Travelers Not To Bring Relatives To Find Work In Jakarta

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria asked his citizens who travel and return home not to return with relatives to find work in Jakarta.

"We apologize for those who returned to Jakarta not to bring such years during this time, from the past every Eid al-Fitr that brought his friend, his brother to Jakarta," riza said at Balai Kota DKI, Central Jakarta, Monday, May 17.

Riza asked all people to realize that Jakarta is an area with a dense population. He asked other residents to make a living other than in Jakarta.

"Let's work in our respective places in our respective villages, there is a lot we can do, not all have to work in Jakarta," he said.

Moreover, currently all regions are facing a potential spike in CASES of COVID-19 after a long holiday, namely the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Not to mention, a new variant of COVID-19 has emerged that is transmitting faster.

"We are all trying to fight against COVID-19 with various provisions, presenting the apparatus, imposing sanctions. So, please be aware of the public to present health protocols as a necessity," he explained.

Riza said there have been 2,608,243 people who left Jakarta during the Eid al-Fitr holiday ban this year. This data was compiled from May 6 to 15.

In details, there were 2,607,688 people who left using private vehicles and 555 people using intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) buses.

"There are 1,730,463 vehicles exiting Jakarta. A total of 714,916 vehicles exited through the main toll gate and 1,015,547 vehicles through arterial roads," he said.

In the meantime, there are 2,244,270 people who have entered Jakarta. There were 2,244,096 people who left using private vehicles and 174 people using AKAP buses.

Meanwhile, 1,513,267 vehicles entered Jakarta. A total of 679,152 vehicles entered Jakarta through the main toll gate and 834,115 vehicles through arterial roads.
