SOEs And Governments Will Optimize Operations For The Jeruju Besar Kopdes
The Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) emphasized that it is ready to support and optimize the operations of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) Jeruju Besar, Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency, Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono said the central government, BUMN, Revolving Fund Management Institutions (LPDB) and other related parties had agreed to work hand in hand to help the Kopdes so that their business activities were accelerated.
This support includes business capital, business assistance, and plans to develop a downstream coconut processing industry and also optimizes organic waste processing business opportunities.
"Symbolically, I handed over financial loan assistance from the LPDB (Revolving Fund Management Agency) to the Jeruju Besar Regional Military Command. This is a real form of the state being present to ensure that villagers are no longer just objects, but economic actors," said Ferry, Tuesday, September 30.
Ferry emphasized that with the potential of coconut in Jeruju Besar which is quite abundant, it can be the main capital to be managed more seriously by the Cooperatives by building a downstream industry. He said, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is ready to support the development of a cooperative-based coconut processing industry.
"Please immediately prepare a proposal for the development of downstream industries from coconut. Pertamina Patra Niaga will support and accommodate," he said.
In addition to coconut processing, other businesses such as waste management into organic liquid fertilizer will also be accompanied by the government. Ferry assessed that business diversification is the key so that cooperatives can be independent and sustainable.
Bank Mandiri is also ready to take an important role in strengthening this village cooperative by providing financing support for additional working capital or for investment.
They will help finance the construction of warehouses with a capacity of 20'30 tons and rejuvenation of basic food outlets.
