Why Did The Expansion Of Kapuk Baru Village Be Realized Even Though It Was Proposed Since 1990? This Is Pramono's Words

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung decided to change Kapuk Village into 3 parts, namely Kapuk Village (induk), East Kapuk Village, and South Kapuk Village.

Pramono revealed that the expansion of Kapuk Village had been proposed since 1990. Pramono only found out that Kapuk Village had a very large population when he received a report from the Mayor of West Jakarta.

"I don't know why it wasn't decided in the past, but I think it's time to decide," said Pramono at the Kapuk Village Office, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta, Tuesday, September 30.

Pramono did not want any prejudice against the policies of the Jakarta leadership before he took office in response to the request for expansion of Kapuk Village. Most importantly, at this time the aspirations of the people so that their kelurahan have been realized.

"I myself don't want any prejudice. The important thing is that the decision taken is for the good of the people in Kapuk, South Kapuk, and East Kapuk sub-districts," he explained.

Prior to the expansion, the population in Kapuk Village was 174,349 people with 221 RT and 16 RW. This number can reach 3 times the total population in other urban villages.

Kapuk Village has an area of 572.62 hectares with a density of 34,014 people per square kilometer.

"So, the average urban village in Jakarta is actually not more than 50 thousand in density. This includes an extraordinary 174 thousand. It hasn't been decided for too long," said Pramono.

Pramono asked the residents of Kapuk Village not to worry about the validity of the residence documents when the area has been expanded. This is because the old documents remain valid until their validity period ends.

"Adjustment or data change can be made during extension or update. Next, the entire document preparation process is not subject to any fees," he added.

West Jakarta Mayor Uus Kuswanto explained, if converted into 3 urban villages, Kapuk Village (induk) will have 59,176 residents in 52 RT and 3 RW, Kapuk Timur Village has 36,203 residents in 68 RT and 6 RW, and South Kapuk Village has 75,998 residents in 101 RT and 8 RW.

"The plan to expand Kapuk Village into Kapuk Village, South Kapuk Village, and Kapuk Timur Village is an alternative to solving problems so that public services are closer, faster, and evenly distributed," said Uus.
