JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry noted that the industrial confidence index (IKI) in September 2025 reached 53.02 points.

This figure is down 0.53 points from IKI in August 2025 which was recorded at 53.55.

"The value of IKI in September 2025 is 53.02, thus it is still expansionary. And compared to IKI in August 2025 it fell by 0.53 points, of which in August 2025 it was 53.55," said Ministry of Industry spokesman Febri Hendri Antoni Arif in the release of IKI September 2025 at the Ministry of Industry Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 30.

In addition, when compared to IKI in September last year at 52.48, the amount of IKI in September 2025 also increased by 0.54 points, namely at 53.02.

Febri added, this September there were 21 sub-sectors experiencing expansion. The contribution of these 21 sub-sectors to gross domestic product (GDP) was 97.8 percent.

In other words, IKI sub-sectors with expansive status are the largest contributors to their GDP.

"The two sub-sectors with the highest value of IKI are the printing and reproductive media industry recorded by KBLI 18 and the beverage industry," he said.

However, Febri said, there were two sub-sectors that were recorded to have contracted, namely the computer industry, electronic and optical goods and the repair industry, installing machines and equipment.

He revealed, based on the IKI-forming variables, there are three things, namely new order variables, production variables, and product inventory variables.

"Based on the three IKI-forming variables, the value of IKI in September 2025 for new order variables has decreased by 3.59 points or 53.79. The value of IKI for product or stock inventory variables has also decreased by 1.18 points or 55.86. On the other hand, the value of IKI production variables is still contracting, but it has increased by 5.01 points or reached 49.85," explained Febri.

Furthermore, Febri explained, IKI from export-oriented industrial companies in September was 53.99, down 0.12 points compared to August which was 54.11.

Meanwhile, domestic IKI is also still in an expansionary phase at the level of 51.92. This figure is a contraction of 0.72 points compared to August 2025 which is at the level of 52.64.

"Domestic IKI has also decreased slightly compared to August 2025. But everything is still above 50. Export orders are also still good, expansive, production is still good and even increasing," he said.
