Accompany Cancer Patients, Doctor Reminds Family To Be More Patient
JAKARTA - Cancer is a dangerous disease that requires long-term treatment. For cancer sufferers, living a life will be very difficult because you have to do various kinds of limited daily medicine and activities.
Therefore, the role of family and closest people is very important to provide support to cancer sufferers. However, accompanying family members who undergo cancer treatment is actually not easy.
With this, the Hematology Specialist and Medical Oncology MRCC, Dr.dr Jeffry Beta Tenggara, SpPD-KHOM, recommends to accompany family members who have cancer with patience.
"As a family, this is a practice of testing patience," said Doctor Jeffry, in Jakarta, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Patience is needed because cancer patients undergoing treatment are usually mentally unstable. This is because they have to visit hospitals frequently to do a series of treatments.

"Because if people are chemo again, it's not just the physique that is tired, the mentality is also tired, because they will go in and out of the hospital," he said.
"Sometimes we will also face our families who are undergoing treatment out of nowhere angry, scolding, because their emotions go up and down," he added.
Doctor Jeffry said that as a companion family, you must be more patient, in order to maintain the patient's mental health as well. He recommended that while accompanying him not follow the ups and downs of emotions from the patient, so that the treatment assistance process continues to run well and does not make the patient feel burdened.
"So we as a family, yes, we must be more patient. Don't follow the rhythm (emotion) of our family who is undergoing cancer treatment," concluded Doctor Jeffry.
