Energy And Compensation Subsidy 2025 Starts To Be Paid October
JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Finance will allocate funds of Rp479 trillion for subsidy payments and energy compensation by 2025.
The budget consists of energy subsidies of Rp. 183.9 trillion, non-energy subsidies of Rp. 104.3 trillion, and compensation of Rp. 190.9 trillion.
This amount is lower than the allocation in 2024 which reached IDR 502 trillion, consisting of recorded energy subsidies of IDR 177.6 trillion, non-energy subsidies of IDR 115.1 trillion, and compensation of IDR 209.3 trillion.
Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive said that subsidy payments and energy compensation in 2025 still have bills in the first quarter and the second quarter that have not been paid, but the payment process is ongoing.
"There are still some that have not been paid, the first, second quarters. But we are following the ongoing procedures," he said during a working meeting with Commission XI of the DPR, Tuesday, September 30.
Furthermore, Purbaya explained, the disbursement of subsidies and compensation in 2025 is scheduled to begin in October, especially for bills from the first and second quarters.
"If we look at it later in October, the first, second, quarter, we will pay in full," he added.
He explained that the trend of subsidized and compensation payments showed a significant spike, because the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) was used as a shock absorber to maintain price stability and protect people's purchasing power in the midst of global turmoil.
"However, since then, energy subsidies have remained quite large along with the price volatility of the ICB community and the pressure on the exchange rate," he explained.

On the other hand, he explained that non-energy subsidies also show growth, especially in the Public Service Obligation (PSO) program and program loans.
This reflects the government's more comprehensive strategy in maintaining productivity and ensuring public access to basic services.
He said that the energy subsidy itself really depends on three main factors, namely world oil prices, rupiah exchange rates, and the level of domestic energy consumption.
