Bedu Reveals Reasons For Agreeing To Divorce: No Longer In Line With Vision And Mission

JAKARTA - Comedian Bedu finally opened his voice about the reason why his household with Irma Kartika Anggraeni had to end up at the court. Through his attorney, Dendi Finsa, Bedu emphasized that this divorce occurred with a mutual agreement with his wife.

"Because of this, it has been authorized by us, yes. So, the reason is because it is no longer in accordance with its vision and mission," said Dendi Finsa at the South Jakarta Religious Court, Tuesday, September 30.

Dendi added that the constant dispute made it difficult for their household to achieve the initial goal of marriage.

"The ongoing dispute cannot create a family that is sakinah, mawadah, warahmah as desired together when getting married. So, there was an agreement together to raise children by separating," he continued.

Bedu himself admitted that his marriage age which reached a dozen years did not guarantee that all problems could be resolved smoothly.

"Maybe there are people who are in their household age for decades. 15 years is considered not at all, but yes, we all hope that it will be the same. We want to have a household that is truly God's pleasure, yes. So sakinah, mawadah, warahmah," said Bedu.

He said that in his household journey, he and his wife had faced several tests. Even though he repeatedly tried to survive with patience, Bedu finally admitted that divorce was the best way.

"Yes, there are several stages there, maybe we have passed it, we hope that the vision and mission will really be achieved. But, yes, some obstacles, yes, things like this have also happened before in our marriage," he said.

"And thank God we managed to get through because we realized that it was a test, we were patient. It happened again, we were patient. It happened again, we were patient and thank God we always passed it patiently, but yes like this," explained Bedu.

He also emphasized that this decision was not because he gave up, but was looking for the best solution.

"Actually, being patient is hard, why? Because the prize is heaven, right. Yes, but I want to be patient in other things," he said.

"Yes, maybe this is not me, I can't wait, but we are trying to find a solution," he added.

Even though it was bitter, Bedu said that this separation was carried out peacefully and mutually agreed upon.

"So yes, we both agree, 'Yuk, we make peace in a situation like this'. The wife also agrees, thank God, I hope that after this, if this goes smoothly, God willing, just pray for the best for us, yes. May Allah also give the best for both of us," concluded Bedu.
