Government Implements New Scheme, 2026 Hajj Services Only Handled By Two Sharias
JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will implement a new scheme in the management of Indonesian Hajj services in 2026 by only appointing two service providers (syarikah) in Saudi Arabia. Previously, Indonesian pilgrims' services were handled by eight sharia.
Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said this reduction in the number of sharia was able to reduce the cost of Hajj services.
"Alhamdulillah, we managed to reduce the cost of services managed by sharia. From the previous 2,300 riyals, this year it became 2,100 riyals without extortion and without manipulation," said Dahnil in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 30, quoted by ANTARA.
The two sharia set by the government are the Rakeen Mashariq Al Mutamayizah Company For Pilgrim Service and Albait Guest. According to Dahnil, this step is part of the reform of Hajj governance which emphasizes efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
Initially, there were about 150 sharia that participated in the auction process. After the gradual screening, the number narrowed to 50, then 20, then four, until finally only two companies were determined.
In addition, the government has also implemented a long-term contract scheme.
"The contract is no longer annual, but directly for three years. This is to prevent negative manipulation and feedback practices in the sharia auction process in Saudi Arabia," Dahnil said.

He emphasized that this policy will take effect in the 2026 Hajj season and become a reference in logistics planning and congregational accommodation services in the Holy Land.
"We are committed to ensuring that the implementation of Hajj is more professional, efficient, and free from interests that harm the congregation," he said.
