Today, The KPK Calls Again Ilham Habibie Regarding The Corruption Case For The Procurement Of BJB Bank Ads
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again summoned the son of the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia B. J. Habibie, Ilham Akbar Habibie regarding the corruption case in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR) today, September 30. He will be questioned as a witness.
"The investigation was carried out at the KPK's Red and White building," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters, Tuesday, September 30.
Budi has not yet detailed the material for the examination of Ilham. He only said that this summons was needed to investigate allegations of corruption at the regional bank.
"The KPK has scheduled witness examinations related to alleged corruption in the procurement of advertisements at the West Java and Banten Regional Development Banks (BJB)," he said.
Ilham is known to have been questioned by investigators from the anti-corruption commission on Wednesday, September 3. After being questioned, he admitted that he was being questioned regarding the purchase of Mercedes Benz 280 SL from his father by former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.
Ilham said the buying and selling process occurred in 2021 and began when Ridwan Kamil saw the vehicle of his father's collection. The Golkar Party politician then bid for Habibie's Mercedes Benz 280 SL and agreed on a selling value of Rp. 2.6 billion.
However, Ridwan Kamil only paid Rp1.3 billion or half. So, the two of them met last year and agreed to cancel the sale and purchase.
Ilham admitted that he was ready to return Ridwan Kamil's money to get back a car collection B. J. Habibie at that time. However, it turned out that Mercy Pagoda was in a workshop and the workshop did not want to spend it because Ridwan Kamil had not paid the cost of restoration.
In addition, the Mercedes Benz 280 SL was also immediately confiscated by the KPK. "Yes, I have to pay, yes, indeed with or without the KPK. If there is no KPK, yes, I will still pay to Mr. Ridwan (to get the car again, ed)," Ilham told reporters after undergoing examination.
Meanwhile, the KPK suspects that the classic car was bought using non-budgeter funds from Bank BJB. This money comes from the difference in paying for the procurement of advertisements by Bank BJB which was returned by the advertising tender winning company.
In the course of this case, investigators continue to explore where these non-budgeters are flowing.
The KPK has confiscated a number of vehicles allegedly owned by former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil. Among them, the Royal Enfield motorbike which is now in the KPK Confiscated Goods Storage House (Rupbasan), Cawang, East Jakarta.
Previously reported, the KPK has named five suspects in connection with allegations of corruption in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR).
