Indonesia To Saudi Arabia Appreciates President Trump's Efforts, Affirms Comprehensive Agreement

JAKARTA - Indonesia and Saudi Arabia appreciate the efforts of United States President Donald Trump to end the war in the Gaza Strip, but firmly reminds the comprehensive agreement including the Two-State Solution.

The White House on Monday announced a proposal of 20 points for President Trump ahead of its meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a joint statement with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the Kingdom of Hashemite Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Republic of Arab Egypt "welcome both the leadership of President Trump and his efforts to end the war in Gaza, and affirm their confidence in his ability to find a way to peace," as quoted from the website of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tuesday 30 September.

In a statement, foreign ministers "emphasized the importance of partnerships with the United States in securing peace in the region."

"In line with that, the ministers welcomed President Trump's announcement of his proposal to end the war, rebuild Gaza, prevent Palestinian people from eviction, and promote comprehensive peace, and his announcement will not allow West Bank annexation."

Foreign ministers also affirmed the readiness to engage positively and constructively with the United States and its parties in finalizing the agreement and ensuring its implementation, in a way that guarantees peace, security, and stability for the people of the region.

The joint statement also reiterated the "joint commitment to cooperate with the United States to end the war in Gaza through a comprehensive agreement ensuring the sending of adequate humanitarian aid indefinitely to Gaza, no evacuation of Palestinians, hostage release, a security mechanism that guarantees the security of all parties, leads to the withdrawal of Israel, rebuilding Gaza, and creating a path to fair peace based on a two-state solution, in which Gaza is fully integrated with the West Bank in a Palestinian state in accordance with international law as key to achieving regional stability and security."
