Woltemade Rejects Gabriel's Apology For The Sikat On His Face

Nick Woltemade said he refused an apology from Gabriel Magalhaes, the decisive of Arsenal's victory, over a elbow on his face when Newcastle lost 1-2 at St James' Park.

Wolttgart's 65 million worth of The Magpies' most expensive signing from VfB Stuttgart earlier this month, put Eddie Howe's team ahead with a header in the 34th minute.

Arsenal defender Gabriel claims he was pushed by the Woltemade before the goal. The two players continued to argue about the incident after the second half began.

Television footage showed Gabriel hitting Woltemade's face in an off-ball incident - an incident that VAR did not follow up on - but the Woltemade said after the match that he rejected Gabriel's apology for the incident.

"After that goal, there was a situation where I felt his elbow hit my face from a distance of two meters. So, his arm was very high."

"Come on, I just told the referee that I felt something in the face and I thought it didn't fit to feel anything in the face."

"However, I'm not the type of player who gives up easily. It's hard because sometimes you might have to do this, but it's not my type of football."

"He apologized afterwards, so I think he knew he had hit my face. To be honest, it didn't solve the problem."

"I don't like this. If you did something in the game and then a few seconds later you apologized, it wasn't part of the game."

"I love this situation where you can fight well, but his elbow shouldn't hit my face," Woltemade told Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, when asked after his views on the clash between Gabriel and Woltemade, Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta, said he did not see the incident.
