Good Intention, Nail Mine Volunteers Are Even Attacked By Tire Patchers In Cawang
JAKARTA - Volunteers for nail mines were victims of an attack carried out by the perpetrators of spreading nails on Jalan DI Panjaitan towards Cawang, East Jakarta, Friday night, September 26, 2025.
The incident was recorded by an amateur video of a passing motorist, then uploaded to an Instagram account.
From the video footage, you can see a dark atmosphere on Jalan DI Panjaitan. Suddenly a nail mine volunteer named Usmanto (36) was chased by a man carrying bamboo.
Meanwhile, Usmanto's colleagues who were at the location then intercepted the action.
According to Usmanto, the incident began when he was trying to clean nail mines using magnets in the Cawang area. Suddenly a man came to him carrying bamboo and chasing him.

"The tire repair person was chasing after me, I immediately ran away, the person brought a bamboo bat, so I was shocked," he said when confirmed, Monday, September 29, 2025.
Just so you know, the tire repairman in the area is open at night until the early hours of the morning.
"It doesn't exist in the afternoon, it's on the left side of the road. It's open after Maghrib until the early hours of the morning, so in the afternoon it doesn't exist," he said.
Usmanto said that he cleans nail mines routinely on Jalan DI Panjaitan in the direction of Cawang to the Kalimalang red light.
"My routine is doing this, because it is prone to nail mines here. Moreover, it is dark, it is dangerous if it hits a motorbike. The price of the tire patch is also expensive," he said.
