Google Indonesia Inaugurates 800 Students Chosen To Become Google Student Ambassadors

JAKARTA - Google Indonesia officially inaugurated 800 students from more than 700 universities in the country, as part of Google Student Ambassador, a Google training program for students interested in AI technology.

Google Indonesia Country Marketing Manager, Muriel Makarim said that the selection process for this program is very competitive. Of the more than 12,000 global registrants, only about 800 people managed to qualify.

That's really amazing, you are one of the top who made it into this program. And this is a representative of more than 700 universities throughout Indonesia," said Muriel at the Google Student Ambassador Inauguration event on Monday, September 29 in Jakarta.

Furthermore, Google Indonesia Communication Manager Feliciana Wienathan explained that this program will run for one year. Where participants will receive training, consula, and assistance by Google to develop a generative AI-based project, especially through Gemini.

"And maybe the most expensive thing is actually assistance from the expert team and from Google itself. Because that's what I think is the most valuable, because we ourselves have to continue to be accompanied by the learning process, we must continue to be accompanied too," said Feli.

Through this program, Google hopes that students can maximize AI technology to support learning, research, and campus community development.

"We hope this can be useful, so that it will be even better for them personally, because after all, they are the main ones. They are the agent of change, the leaders of change," he concluded.
