Drunk Illegal Parking Attendant Attacks A Driver In Kelapa Gading
JAKARTA - The investigation into RGB (29), a suspect in the extortion and assault of a motorcyclist in Kelapa Gading, revealed that the perpetrator was under the influence of alcohol and was motivated by the victim's head to hit him, resulting in blood.
"The perpetrator admitted that he was under the influence of alcohol. However, that doesn't justify his actions," said the Head of the North Jakarta Metro Police's Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP I Gede Gustiana, to reporters on Monday, September 29, 2025.
However, police do not yet know what type of alcohol the perpetrator consumed to cause him to attack a motorcyclist.
"The investigation is still ongoing. Essentially, he was under the influence of alcohol, and during an argument, he became angry and immediately struck," he said.
As a result of the incident, the victim, identified as S (40), suffered serious head injuries after being hit with a metal rod by RGB.
"The injuries (to the victim) were on his head, hands, and feet. After being hit, the victim fell to the ground and was thrown," he said.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator obtained the iron rod used to hit the victim from the scene.
"The perpetrator found the iron rod at the scene. He saw there was a lot of iron rods in the area. So he took the one near the shop. During the argument, he immediately hit (the victim)," he said.
The assault began when the victim and his friend were about to retrieve a motorcycle parked in a Kelapa Gading area.
The victim had paid Rp 5,000 per motorcycle for parking, but the perpetrator demanded an additional Rp 10,000 per motorcycle. Feeling extorted, an argument ensued between the perpetrator and the victim.
The perpetrator then took an iron pipe from a nearby shop and struck the victim several times, causing a laceration to the head and bruises to several parts of his body.
