Repair, 6 Jakarta Inner City Toll Gates Closed Until October 4

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has temporarily closed six inner-city toll gates starting Monday, September 29 at 05.00 WIB until Saturday, October 4, 2025. The closure was carried out to repair gate facilities that were damaged due to large demonstrations at the end of last August.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said this step was taken to ensure the safety and comfort of toll road users.

The damage to toll gate facilities due to last demonstrations must be corrected immediately. We understand that this closure has an impact on smooth traffic, but improvements are very important so that toll gates can return to operation more safely and comfortably for the community. We ask for patience and cooperation from all road users," said Syafrin in Jakarta, Monday, September 29.

The six toll gates that are temporarily closed are Semanggi 1 Toll Gate, Semanggi 2 Toll Gate, Slipi 1 Toll Gate, Kuningan 1 Toll Gate, Senayan Toll Gate, and Pejompongan Toll Gate.

To reduce congestion due to closure, the DKI Transportation Agency has prepared an alternative route. The flow from Jalan Letjen S. Parman to Cawang is diverted through the Tanjung Duren or Semanggi 1 Toll Gate. If the Semanggi 1 Toll Gate is fully closed, one lane is provided sodetan can still be crossed.

Vehicles from Jalan Gatot Subroto to Tangerang can use the Senayan Toll Gate. Meanwhile, vehicles from the direction of MT Haryono or Cawang to Pluit are directed to the Tebet 1 Toll Gate.

The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has also prepared situational traffic engineering. Among other things, diverting heavy vehicle flows to out-of-town toll roads, regulating traffic lights at Semanggi intersections, as well as placing officers at traffic jam-prone points such as Kuningan, Slipi, and Senayan. The police will also add portable signs and current directioning barricades near the closed toll gate access.

"This traffic engineering is dynamic in nature, adjusting conditions in the field. If the flow of vehicles accumulates, we will open and close alternative routes to maintain smooth running," said Head of Sub-Directorate for Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Jhoni Eka Putra.

Syafrin also appealed to the public to consider the use of public transportation during the closure. "In addition to reducing the potential for traffic density, using public transportation will be safer, more comfortable, and environmentally friendly," he explained.

The repair of the facility is estimated to take six days, so that the six toll gates will return to normal operations on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
