Palestinian Death Toll Due To Israeli Genocide In Gaza Reaches 66 Thousand People
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health confirmed on Sunday that Palestinian deaths from Israeli genocide since October 2023 have reached 66,005 people.
A ministry statement said 79 bodies, including two bodies found from the rubble, had been taken to hospital in the past 24 hours, while 379 people were injured, bringing the total injured to 168,162 in an Israeli attack.
"Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the road because rescue teams cannot reach them," the ministry said, as reported by Anadolu September 29.
The latest conflict broke out in Gaza after Palestinian militant groups attacked Israel's southern region on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 people and causing 251 others to be held hostage, according to Israeli calculations.
The ministry's report also noted that six Palestinians were killed and 66 others injured by Israeli soldiers' gunfire while seeking humanitarian assistance in the past 24 hours.
This left the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking help to 2,566, with more than 18,769 others injured since 27 May 2025.
The Israeli army continued its attack on the Gaza Strip on March 18, 2025 and has since killed 13,173 people and injured 56,121 others, thwarting a ceasefire and a prisoner swap agreement in effect from January 19, 2025.
