Las Workshop In Duren Sawit Burns, Losses Reaches IDR 450 Million

JAKARTA - A building that is used as a welding workshop on Jalan Bojong Indah, RT 11/06, Pondok Kelapa Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, caught fire on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

The fire incident was first noticed by the head of RT 06/06 who was passing by. He saw thick smoke from the roof.

Ironically, the flames that continued to grow became the attention of local residents. A number of residents actually came to the location of the fire to witness the flames that continued to grow.

The fire incident was reported to have occurred at around 13.21 WIB. Residents then reported it to the Pondok Kelapa Damkar post.

After receiving reports of fires, 12 fire engines were deployed to the scene.

Meanwhile, 60 personnel were also deployed to carry out the blackout which started at 13.29 WIB.

"The object caught fire at the workshop at the welding workshop for 300 meters," said Damkar picket officer, Sukur, Sunday, September 28, 2025.

After watering more than an hour, the flames were successfully extinguished at 14.50 WIB. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of this fire incident.

"The cause is suspected to be due to the welding construction work. The loss is estimated at Rp. 450 million," he said.

It was later discovered that the welding workshop belonged to a resident named Kayan. Meanwhile, the fire case is under investigation by the Duren Sawit Police.
