Not MBG, But BGN Must Be Evaluated By The President

JAKARTA Citra Institute political observer, Efriza asked President Prabowo Subianto to evaluate the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), instead of evaluating the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program due to poisoning in various regions recently.

"The MBG program is not the center of massive poisoning problems, but rather the management by BGN. This shows that so far the government has too much confidence in BGN management, but without an in-depth evaluation," he said, Sunday, September 28, 2025.

According to him, the tragedy of school children who were poisoned by food from the MBG program shows that there are problems in the implementation of the national strategic program that is the flagship of President Prabowo.

Therefore, the government must immediately carry out an in-depth investigation at the level of its implementation. Otherwise, this will be a bad record of Prabowo-Gibran's work program," added Efriza.

One of the steps that President Prabowo can take is to conduct a top evaluation of BGN. Efriza emphasized that it is time for President Prabowo to reorganize the implementation of the MBG program before getting a red report card from the public.

Previously, the Deputy Head of BGN, Nanik S Deyang apologized for the poisoning incident that occurred again in MBG programs in a number of areas. "From my deepest heart I apologize, on behalf of BGN on behalf of all SPPGs in Indonesia, I apologize," he said.

He stated that BGN would be responsible for cases of poisoning caused by the MBG program, including covering the medical expenses of students suspected of being poisoned. Nanik admitted that BGN was negligent and guilty of cases of food poisoning which 80 percent were caused by standard operating procedures (SOPs) that were not obeyed.
