Only Need A Second Finish, Marc Marquez Has The Opportunity To Win The 2025 MotoGP World
JAKARTA - Just one step away for Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) to seal the 2025 MotoGP World Title after finishing second in the Sprint Race at the Motegi Circuit, Japan, Saturday.
Additional points from Sprint made Marquez now 191 points ahead of his younger brother, Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing), who is in second place in the standings.
This condition opens up opportunities for Marquez to ensure his seventh world title in MotoGP in the main race, Sunday 28 September.
Mathematically, reported by ANTARA, Marquez, who has 521 points, will become world champion if he doesn't lose more than six points from Alex. This means that the second victory or finish is enough for the No. 93 racer to win the title.
In fact, even finishing third was still able to lead him to win as long as Alex did not win the race.
Another scenario is still on Marquez's side. If he finishes fourth to sixth, the chances of a title remain safe as long as Alex doesn't climb the podium better than third. Likewise, if Marquez finishes seventh to ninth, the condition is that Alex should not finish above fourth.

If Marquez is only able to finish 10th or 11th, the title will still be won as long as Alex does not penetrate the top five.
Likewise, if you finish 12th on the condition that Alex is no higher than sixth, or finish 13th with Alex no better than seventh.
Even if Marquez only finished 14th or 15th, the chances of a champion are still open as long as Alex is stuck outside the top eight. The most extreme scenario was when Marquez failed to score points at all, but was still crowned world champion if Alex only finished 10th or lower.
Japan's MotoGP main race at the Motegi Circuit will take place on Sunday starting at 12.00 WIB, which could be a historic moment for Marc Marquez to complete his biggest comeback in the world of sports.
