This new project contract completes six previously signed irrigation rehabilitation packages in Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi as well as two phase 1 irrigation rehabilitation package contracts.

"In total, Hutama Karya is now working on eleven irrigation rehabilitation packages spread across a number of parts of Indonesia as part of the Land Optimization Program (OPLAH) that supports Asta Cita Pemerintahan Presiden Prabowo Subianto," said Adjib in his statement, Saturday, September 27.

In its implementation, continued Adjib, Hutama Karya is committed to absorbing up to 80 percent of local workers for projects in Bali and the two packages in Aceh as an effort to empower the local community's economy.

"We will carry out intensive coordination with local farmer groups to understand the patterns and planting times in each location. This is important so that we can implement an irrigation water flow open-close system that does not interfere with agricultural activities during construction," Adjib added.

In this rehabilitation, the scope of work includes rehabilitation of primary and secondary channels, repair of regulatory buildings, installation of new floodgates, and strengthening of the canal structure with stone pairs. The total length of the channels to be rehabilitated reaches more than 160 kilometers.

These three projects are the implementation of Presidential Instruction No. 2 of 2025 which aims to increase agricultural productivity and accelerate the achievement of food self-sufficiency where all projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

"Rehabilitation of irrigation networks is not just an infrastructure improvement activity, but a strategic step to strengthen national food security. With a better irrigation system, it is hoped that farmers will be able to optimize planting intensity and increase agricultural production, as well as encourage improving their welfare," said Adjib.
