VOI Today: Free Nutrition Food Toxic Case, Who Should Be Responsible?

JAKARTA - The poisoning case in West Bandung Regency has been designated as an Extraordinary Event (KLB) after more than 1,300 students were poisoned after eating food from the MBG (Free Nutrition Food) program.

A poisoning incident was also reported in Ketapang, West Kalimantan, which hit 25 students and teachers after eating the fried shark menu. In addition, 14 junior high school students in the Riau Islands were also reported to have experienced health problems after consuming MBG.

Nationally, according to data from the Indonesian Education Monitoring Network (JPPI), it has reached 6,452 children as of September 21, 2025. The public urged the government to stop this program, netizens also highlighted the background of high-ranking National Nutrition Agency (BGN) officials, which on average they are retired TNI.
