Pursued By Tiger Team, 2 Murderers Of A Teenager In Banjarmasin Were Arrested In Less Than A Day

BANJARMASIN - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banjarmasin Tengah (Banteng) Police moved quickly to arrest two murder suspects, identified as AD (16) and AS (19), less than 24 hours after the incident.

Both are residents of Central Banjarmasin and are suspected of being involved in the murder of RK (19) on Jalan Pekapuran Laut Gang Nangka, Pekapuran Laut Village, Central Banjarmasin District.

"After receiving a report of the murder, Buser (Sleep Unit) officers immediately went to the scene to investigate and pursue the perpetrators," said Head of the Banteng Police Criminal Investigation Unit, First Inspector Raihan Fakhri, in Banjarmasin, Antara News Agency reported on Friday, September 26.

According to Raihan, the murder began with a fight early Thursday morning at around 3:00 a.m. WITA (Central Indonesian Time). The victim, RK, was evacuated to the hospital. An external examination at Ulin Regional Hospital in Banjarmasin revealed that the victim suffered serious injuries to his head, chest, shoulders, waist, and groin.

"From the examination results, we concluded that the victim died from the injuries he sustained," said Raihan.

He explained that the arrests of the two perpetrators were made on Thursday at around 11:00 a.m. WITA. The joint team first apprehended AS, who was suspected of carrying a sharp weapon and stabbing the victim. AD ​​was then arrested on Jalan Veteran Gang Terminal, Sungai Baru Village, Central Banjarmasin District.

"Thank God, less than 24 hours after the incident, we successfully apprehended both perpetrators. We have secured the perpetrators and the evidence for further processing," said Raihan.

The confiscated evidence included the post-mortem examination (VER), the victim's blood-stained clothing, a samurai-style sharp weapon, and a sickle.

Based on the preliminary investigation, AS and AD were named as suspects for alleged assault and/or murder as stipulated in Article 170 paragraph (2) and/or Article 338 of the Criminal Code.
