Sule Ditilang Dishub, KIR Car Kedaluwarsa Sejak Maret 2025
JAKARTA - Comedian Sule is in the public spotlight with a viral video showing himself stopped in the middle of the road by DKI Jakarta Transportation Service (Dishub) officers circulating on social media.
The incident occurred during the Lintas Jaya operation. Toyota Hilux's double cabin car driven by Sule was stopped for inspection of vehicle documents, including KIR.
In a viral video recording on TikTok and Instagram, Sule was asked to show KIR. However, the celebrity from Cimahi could not immediately display the document.
"Yes, only I (forgot) what was left at home in the car, sir," said Sule to the officer, quoted in the video, Friday, September 25.
The officer then checked through the online system. From the results of the inspection, the validity period of Sule's car KIR turned out to be over. I checked online, there was no KIR letter. If I'm not mistaken, the validity period has expired," said one of the Transportation Agency officers.
Responding to this, Sule chose not to argue much. Instead, he asked for the ticketing process to be carried out immediately because he was in a hurry.
"Yes, sir, it's okay to have a ticket. Just don't play long. Our job father is working, I want to shoot," he said.
Even though he complained because of the wasted time, Sule still accepted the officers' actions. He even inserted satire about the increasing tax obligations.
"Nih guys are ticketed, we pay to the state. Taxes continue to rise, we pay taxes, we are ticketed for this," said Sule in the video.
Responding to the incident, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, revealed that no procedure was violated by officers when checking Sule's vehicle documents.
At that time, officers checked the periodic KIR test of Sule's double cabin car and it turned out that his validity period had ended since March.
"The person concerned asked for a ticket. However, before being ticketed, officers in the field checked their vehicles online through e-KIR and land partners and it was found that the periodic test had expired on March 23, 2025. The ticketing process was carried out in accordance with the SOP for officers in the field," explained Syafrin.

Syafrin emphasized that the car that was ticketed when driven by Sule was indeed required to carry out periodic KIR tests every 6 months.
"When examined, they cannot show a periodic test book/STUK, so the officers in the field provide an opportunity to look for the periodic test book in question but still they cannot show the periodic test book of the vehicle they are carrying," he explained.
