Bank Mandiri Consistently Strengthens ESG Commitment In Semester I 2025
JAKARTA - In the midst of increasing global attention to environmental and sustainability issues, Bank Mandiri affirms its commitment by expanding its contribution in the field of sustainability. Through the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, Bank Mandiri has listed various consistent strategic initiatives, ranging from sustainable portfolio growth, implementation of environmentally friendly operations, policy strengthening and various other initiatives that have succeeded in increasing Bank Mandiri's ESG Score.
Until the position of June 2025, Bank Mandiri's sustainable financing portfolio reached IDR 304.5 trillion, which showed significant growth of 9.6 percent on a year-on-year (YoY) basis. Of this amount, the green portfolio recorded annual growth of 13.3 percent to IDR 157.5 trillion.
The growth in the green portfolio makes Bank Mandiri a green financing market leader with a market share of more than 35 percent compared to 4 other major national banks. This growth reflects Bank Mandiri's commitment to supporting sectors that are in line with the national sustainable development agenda.
Monica Yoanita Octavia, SVP ESG Group Bank Mandiri, said that Bank Mandiri's sustainable financing composition continues to grow. The bank with the gold ribbon logo ensures that every financial support provided has a real contribution in driving energy transitions, increasing resource efficiency, and supporting environmentally friendly infrastructure development. All these efforts refer to the framework of the Sustainable Business Activity Category (KKUB) as regulated in POJK 51/2017, thus ensuring good compliance and governance in the implementation of sustainable financing.
Bank Mandiri's commitment to sustainability does not stop on the business side, but is also applied to green operational transformation. Bank Mandiri is the first bank in Indonesia to implement Digital Carbon Tracking to monitor carbon footprint updates. This innovation allows more transparent and accurate emission management.

This decline can be achieved through various operational initiatives implemented, such as the expansion of building facilities that have reached 10 Green Offices (growing 11 percent YoY), 3 Green Buildings (growing 200 percent YoY) which obtained certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI), 31 charging stations for electric vehicles (growing 82 percent YoY), 870 solar panels that have been installed (up 20 percent YoY), and modernizing the fleet of vehicles that have operated 490 electric and hybrid vehicles (growing 250 percent).
Bank Mandiri continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability principles by making significant improvements in policies related to ESG. These policies can also be accessed publicly to increase the company's transparency and accountability.
As a result, in the first half of 2025, Bank Mandiri also received recognition from international rating institutions. MsCI Bank Mandiri's rating score, which was previously at the level of 'BBB', managed to rise by two places to 'AA' in 2025. This achievement reflects a significant increase and is the result of consistent collective work from all parties. Monica said in her official statement.
