THE BOYZ Agency Responds To Alleged Light Stick QWER Design Plagiarism

JAKARTA - The BOYZ agency ONE HUNDRED released a statement after alleged QWER's latest light stick design plagiarism. Their megaphone-shaped light stick design allegedly imitated THE BOYZ's design.

THE BOYZ has used a similar megaphone design since 2021, so fans of THE BOYZ convey their criticism through social media.

Thursday, September 25, ONE HUNDRED released a statement that they regretted the similarities in design between the band and their group.

"We sympathize with the anxiety and discomfort that fans experience because of the similarity of official light sticks between THE BOYZ and QWER designs," said ONE HUNDRED through his social media.

"We regret that this situation has caused concern, because light sticks are a meaningful symbol linking their artists and fans. We understand this controversy may make THE B (THE BOYZ fan name) disappointed," he said.

The agency claimed to have communicated with QWER and asked for a change in the light stick design, but they did not get a good decision.

"We apologize for not immediately discussing the issue, in the future we will take legal action by coordinating with relevant institutions to ensure such incidents do not occur," explained the agency.

"We also ensure that the symbolism of THE BOYZ and THE B that have been built together is not considered haphazardly," he said.

QWER itself has not responded to accusations of plagiarism from fans of THE BOYZ. On the other hand, this light stick is the first version of the group since debuting in 2024.
