Based on the posture of the 2026 State Budget, the target for customs and excise deposits rose to Rp336 trillion from the initial draft of Rp334.3 trillion.

This amount increased from the projected revenue this year which amounted to IDR 310.35 trillion.

Along with the increase, Purbaya said, excise income does not always have to be by increasing the tariff from CHT.

The Minister of Finance emphasized his commitment to eradicate the circulation of illegal cigarettes in Indonesia, along with the termination of employment (PHK) for employees in the sector.

According to Purbaya, this step is part of the government's efforts to protect the legal industry that contributes to state revenues, especially through excise payments.

"The fake (smoking) is not normal, yes, we will start chasing them one by one. If it's normal, let it be fake. Because it's not fair, right, we withdraw hundreds of trillions of taxes from cigarettes, while they are not protected by the market," he explained.
