Calls Residents Comfortable To Be Trained At DKI Social Institutions, Pramono: Feels Like Their Home
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that many inmates in Jakarta feel happy and comfortable being fostered at the social institution of the DKI Jakarta Social Service.
According to Pramono, most of the residents who are trained in social institutions come from the need for social welfare services (PPKS) such as beggars, homeless people, silver people, to people with mental disorders.
This was revealed by Pramono after visiting the Taruna Jaya 1 Youth Development Social Institution, Tebet District, South Jakarta.
"They feel this is their home and that's why they then left this place is also not easy," said Pramono, Thursday, September 25.
Pramono explained that currently there are around 7,700 residents fostered in 22 social institutions belonging to the DKI Social Service. The majority who temporarily live in orphanages are vulnerable and less fortunate residents.
They, continued Pramono, are usually given coaching and learning skills for one year. With the hope that, set the coaching process, they will be able to continue their independent life better.
"So I see that one thing that appears when they already have the skills they have is the emergence of self-confidence," said Pramono.
This guidance, continued Pramono, was carried out so that the inmates had the skills to enter the work market. However, the DKI Provincial Government does not force them to be able to get jobs within one year.
"Actually, they were prepared here for 1 year. But if they have not been absorbed in the market to work, they are usually given an extension," he added.
