Agus Gumiwang: Circulation Of Illegal Goods Simulating The Ministry Of Industry
TANGERANG - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita admitted that the circulation of imported goods has made his party dizzy to date.
This was conveyed by Agus when responding to questions from one of the students who attended the 2025 Indo Halal event at ICE BSD, Tangerang Regency, Banten, Thursday, September 25.
Initially, a student from Pamulang University asked how the government was trying to overcome falsification of halal certificates and misuse of halal logos that harm consumers and business actors.
According to him, over the past few years, there have been many food booths, drinks or so on that have abused the halal logo and sold many illegal goods.
Then, Minister of Industry Agus responded to this. Agus did not deny that the circulation of illegal goods was still an issue that was discussed until now. In fact, he said, the circulation of illegal goods is enough to make the Ministry of Industry dizzy.

"The issue of the circulation of illegal goods is indeed a concern for the Ministry of Industry. It is an issue that we are facing at the Ministry of Industry. Illegal products that enter our market, be it produced domestically, especially since products whose status imports are both illegal, which injures, makes it difficult for our domestic industry," said Agus.
For this reason, according to Agus, his party always strengthens coordination with other parties, such as ministries and institutions. The ministries and institutions in question, namely the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag), the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance to the police.
"Therefore, it is necessary for us to cooperate with other parties, namely Customs, Ministry of Trade, the police and so on. So, the issue of the circulation of illegal goods is indeed a worry for the Ministry of Industry," he concluded.
