Vegetable Traders Robbed Of Gangs Of Celurit Rampok In Cakung, Residents Complain About Security

JAKARTA - A sadistic robbery took place on Jalan Pulo Kambing Raya, Jatinegara Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta on Thursday, September 25. The incident was reported to have occurred on Thursday morning.

The sadistic crime was also recorded by the residents' amateur cameras around the location. In the video footage, there are 4 perpetrators who have followed the victim.

The victim, who was riding a white automatic motorbike, was seen driving alone. Suddenly the victim's motorbike was immediately intercepted by a gang of robbers.

Two of the perpetrators immediately got off the motorbike and took the victim's motorbike. The victim had fought back, but the perpetrator took out a sickle and slashed the victim.

Meanwhile, the other perpetrators immediately took the victim's motorbike and took it away.

Sutrimo, a building security officer, said the incident occurred at 06.00 WIB. The perpetrators only left after their actions were discovered by the building security officers around the location.

"The victim was a vegetable trader, the incident occurred at 06.00 WIB. The security guard tried to chase the perpetrator, but the perpetrator immediately fled with the victim's motorbike. The victim was injured by the perpetrator on his back," said Sutrimo, Thursday, September 25, 2025, afternoon.

After the incident, the injured victim was immediately taken to the hospital by local security officers.

"It's a male victim. There are a lot of thefts here and there are many crimes here," he said.

Especially at night, street crimes in the Pulo Kambing Raya Street area are very vulnerable. The perpetrators who often act are also known to be sadistic, always injure the victim with sharp weapons.

The reason is, the area is quiet from residents' activities, dark and not crossed by police patrol cars.

"At night, the incident is usually one hour and one night until dawn. It is prone, two to three people are the perpetrators," he said.

Currently, the robbery case has been handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cakung Police, East Jakarta. The perpetrator is in police pursuit.
