Leapmotor Capai Production 1 Million Car Units, Only Need 343 Days From 500 Thousand
JAKARTA Leapmotor has recorded a historic achievement by producing the 1 millionth vehicle in China, eight years since it first arrived in 2015. This achievement feels even more special because it only takes 343 days for Leapmotor to multiply production from 500,000 units to 1 million units, as announced through the company's official account on Weibo.
Leapmotor's journey in the automotive world is relatively fast. Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Thursday, September 25, on June 28, 2022, they just celebrated the production of the 10,000th mass vehicle. Just two years later, on October 17, 2024, that number has jumped to 500,000 units and now one million vehicles have officially left the production line.
Initially Leapmotor only played in the battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment. However, since 2022 the company has started developing Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) technology to provide consumers with more flexible options.

The T03, B01, and B10 models come specifically as BEVs, while the C-Series model also offers the EREV variant. Last week, Leapmotor even announced that it would launch their latest flagship SUV, D19, which is scheduled for a global debut on October 16.
Lapmotor's ambition is getting bigger. In March, founder and chairman Zhu Jiangming targeted the annual sales of 500,000 600.000 units by 2025. However, seeing the upward trend of sales, the target was then raised to 580,000'65.000 units, with a mission of breaking the 1 million units next year.
Leapmotor's quick move confirms his position as one of the main players in China's electric vehicle industry, as well as a serious challenger to other automotive giants who were first present.
