Three Dead Victims, Police Deploy K9 To Pursue Wawan In Pacitan Forest

Pacitan Resort Police (Polres) together with the East Java Regional Police (Jatim) increased their pursuit of Wawan, the perpetrator of the attack on a family in Temon Village, Arjosari District, Pacitan, by combing several forest points suspected of being hiding the perpetrators.

Pacitan Police Chief AKBP Ayup Diponegoro Azhar, said his party had deployed additional personnel and K9 sniffer dogs to speed up the arrest process.

"We conducted a sweep in an area suspected of being an escape route. Coordination with the surrounding police is also strengthened," Ayup said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 25.

The pursuit effort was expanded after Arga Novalleky Saputra (11), a survivor who had been treated intensively, died at Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta on Tuesday (23/9) night. With Arga's death, the death toll increased to three people.

Arga previously suffered serious head injuries as a result of a sharp weapon when Wawan attacked his ex-wife's house on Saturday (21/9) night.

The victim was treated at dr. Darsono Pacitan before being referred to Yogyakarta because his condition worsened.

The police also intensified preventive measures by urging the public to remain vigilant and immediately report if they know the whereabouts of the perpetrators.

"We ask residents not to take their own actions. The slightest information will be immediately submitted to the nearest police post," said the Police Chief.

The attack occurred when the perpetrator came to his ex-wife's house and blindly attacked the occupants of the house using sharp weapons.

The police confirmed that the perpetrators would be charged with premeditated murder with the threat of maximum punishment.
